CCA UPDATE FOR Thursday, November 20, 2008

WEATHER? WHAT WEATHER??

Just a reminder about our policy: For the sake of safety and simplicity, CCA follows the inclement weather opening/closing procedures of the BALTIMORE COUNTY Public Schools. If BCPS is closed, CCA is closed. A 2-hour delay, for example, means that CCA’s Extended Day before care will not begin until 9:00 am and the instructional day will begin at 10:30. If BCPS closes early, CCA closes the same number of hours early as well, but with NO PM EXTENDED DAY services. This information is posted on our website’s home page. Except for extenuating circumstances, CCA does not post closing information on the public electronic media, nor can we call individual parents with closing information. Please check local TV, radio, and Internet for the status of Baltimore County schools, thus CCA’s status.

FREEDOM’S WINGS DANCE RECITAL

Come out parents, on Thursday, December 4 th, at 6:30 to see CCA’s newest troupe, Freedom’s Wings, as they perform their very first public recital. This group of talented young ladies will impress you and your $5 contribution will help the troupe dress develop into yet another gem among the talented CCA family. Tickets may be obtained day Monday, December 1 st from Ms. Majette, after school following their final rehearsal. Tickets will then be available from Ms. V in the office for 2 DAYS ONLY (Tuesday & Wednesday, December 2 nd & 3 rd).

TECHNOLOGY UPDATE

Our technology curriculum is rapidly developing! We are now in the process of establishing usernames and passwords for every student in order to provide remote parental access thru STP’s secure website. There, parents will be able to log on and view their child’s completed technology projects (and other subject projects). More as it develops.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

COLONIAL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY INCLEMENT WEATHER CLOSING POLICY
In the case of inclement weather, CCA follows the BALTIMORE COUNTY Public Schools procedures. Please consult the local radio, television, and internet notices for the county school closings. If BCPS is closed for weather, CCA is closed. A delayed opening will cause CCA to open late as well--including Extended Care. A 2-hour delay, for example, means that Extended Care will not be available until 9:00 am, with the instructional day beginning at 10:30 am. If BCPS announces an early closing, CCA will adjust its schedule the same number of hours--with NO Extended Aftercare. Due to the volume of calls that would be necessary, CCA cannot call individual parents for closings. Again, please watch and listen to the local media outlets for the BALTIMORE COUNTY Public Schools procedure for the affected day(s). Thank you.
