CCA was birthed out of the vision of the senior pastor of Colonial Baptist Church, Pastor Robert J. Anderson, Jr. The pastor’s vision was shared with the leadership of the church, and the Christian School Committee was formed. The committee began to meet regularly to make this vision a reality.

A feasibility study was given to the congregation; the committee visited several local Christian Schools, and broke into sub-committees to complete specific tasks. The sub-committees included: Curriculum/Education, Facilities & Building, Publicity & Public Relations, Finance/Budget, and the Spiritual Committee. Through the diligent work of the Christian School Committee several tasks were accomplished. These accomplished tasks include:

· Obtained a 501 (c) (3) non-profit status

· Outlined implementation and operational goals

· Research and identified school curricula

· Outlined projected budgets for FY02 and FY03

· Identified and hired school principal

· Identified and hired professional fundraiser

· Outlined proposed fundraising plan for FY02

· Established board of directors

Our Mission

The Colonial Christian Academy provides a structured, Christ-centered educational program producing students that exemplify competence, character and compassion. We will partner with families to challenge and effectively equip each student with the educational, spiritual, mental, social, physical, and emotional tools needed to live productive meaningful lives.

Our Philosophy

The philosophy of Colonial Christian Academy is based on a God-centered view that all truth is God’s truth, and that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Since God created, and sustains all things through His Son, Jesus Christ, the universe and all life are dynamically related to God and have the purpose of glorifying Him. Because man has a sinful nature, he can only glorify God by choosing God’s free gift of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ, thereby committing his life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

A quality education establishes and maintains a solid foundation that enables children to develop the skills needed to live a life that glorifies our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This Christian foundation is seen as a means used by the Holy Spirit to bring the students into fellowship with God, to help them become strong and mighty in the spirit, to assist them in developing a Christian mind, to enable them to think God’s thoughts, to train them in Christ-like character qualities so that they can fulfill God’s total purpose for their lives.

This philosophy channels our energies to promote high academic standards while helping the students to achieve skills in creative and critical thinking using the best curriculum available, taught by highly qualified, born-again educators.

The authority for such an education comes from God’s command that children be taught to love God and place Him first in their lives and from the fact that parents are responsible for the total education and training of their child. At the parents’ request, Colonial Christian Academy, along with the church, becomes a partner in giving this education. We see our school as an extension of the local church, serving parents in fulfilling their responsibility of educating the child.

Key Words: Competence, Character & Compassion

Statement of Faith (ACSI)

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God (II Timothy 3:15; II Peter 1:21).

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (
Genesis 1:1; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30).

We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:30);

His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35);

His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 7:26);

His miracles (John 2:11);

His vicarious and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9);

His resurrection (John 11:25; I Corinthians 15:4);

His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19); and

His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11).

We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; and that men are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by God’s grace and through faith alone are we saved (John 3:16-19; John 5:24; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5).

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation (John 5:28-29).

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ

(Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28).

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (Romans 8:13-14; I Corinthians 3:16; I Corinthians 6:19-20; Ephesians 4:30; Ephesians 5:18).

INCLEMENT WEATHER

COLONIAL CHRISTIAN ACADEMY INCLEMENT WEATHER CLOSING POLICY
In the case of inclement weather, CCA follows the BALTIMORE COUNTY Public Schools procedures. Please consult the local radio, television, and internet notices for the county school closings. If BCPS is closed for weather, CCA is closed. A delayed opening will cause CCA to open late as well--including Extended Care. A 2-hour delay, for example, means that Extended Care will not be available until 9:00 am, with the instructional day beginning at 10:30 am. If BCPS announces an early closing, CCA will adjust its schedule the same number of hours--with NO Extended Aftercare. Due to the volume of calls that would be necessary, CCA cannot call individual parents for closings. Again, please watch and listen to the local media outlets for the BALTIMORE COUNTY Public Schools procedure for the affected day(s). Thank you.
